Chorlton coronavirus community response is great example of community action.
You can get up-to-date details on Unicorn's measures during the pandemic on the Unicorn site here.
Unicorn is limiting the number of people in the shop at any one time for the safety of customers and workers. But the queues have got much better now and NHS staff, care workers and anyone who will struggle with the wait can just come to the front of the line if there is a queue
Unicorn is now opening on Mondays for timed entry (only) between 10 and 7. You can book a slot on-line. The 9.30am to 10am slot remains reserved for 70+ and high risk customers, with no booking needed.
Monday Cargo Bike Deliveries
On Mondays only, Chorlton Bike Deliveries will provide FREE delivery to local shoppers (within 3 miles) using the timed entry slots. You still need to turn up and choose your shopping, but it's a great help if you don't have a car and Unicorn hopes this service will encourage customers to shop for others on their street.
Once you have booked a Monday entry slot, please call Glynis on 07561 737 986 to pre-arrange your car-free delivery. Glynis and her team of volunteers will be delivering within a 3 mile radius of the shop using their fleet of cargo bikes. Another great move from Chorlton Bike Deliveries!

Co-op confirms it won't sell chlorinated chicken
The Co-op has joined other supermarkets in confirming that it won't sell chlorinated chicken or homone-injected beef if the government signs a deal with the USA.
Co-op on-line ordering and deliveries
The Coop is now doing deliveries. You can now get a slot quite quickly - even the same day. It's a great way of getting food delivered at lower risk to you and store colleagues.
Community Shopping Scheme
The Co-op Community Shopping Scheme means that people who must stay at home can get a special shopping card. They can load this with money by telephone and then give the card to a friend or volunteer to get their shopping and pay for it. To get a card or top one up just call 0800 029 4592.
Stores
The Co-op is starting to open stores later again. The period between 8am and 9am (10-11 on Sundays) is still reserved for older, vulnerable, carers and NHS workers.
Customers are still asked to keep 2m apart if possible. There is also a limit on the number of people in the store.
Screens have been fitted in store to protect staff.

NHS prescriptions delivered for free
If you have a repeat prescription from a GP in England, you can order your medication from your mobile phone or tablet using the Co-op Health app.
