Here's an update on activities in the Chorlton Co-op Cluster
Chorlton Funeralcare site - formerly the Gaumont cinema - is up for sale. Property agents Savills is touting it as a 'prime development opportunity'. But the Co-op now has a policy of working to create and save shared community spaces. We asked a question at the AGMand Chief Executive Steve Murrells confirmed that he thought the Co-op should "think long and hard" about the right way to deal with the site.
Come along to our public meeting at pm on 4 July and you can hear from the Co-op head of property services Simon Goodier himself and let him know what you think should happen to the site. Plus Councillor Eve Holt and Chris Peacockfrom Chorlton Community Land Trust will talk and discuss what should happen next.
Don't miss this opportunity to shape what happens to a crucial site in the heart of Chorlton.

Back to our usual Saturday morning slot. We'll be discussing:
All our meetings last just one hour. We focus on what we can do to make the Co-op work better for members and the community and how we can work with other co-ops.
We're the Chorlton Co-op Cluster - local Co-op members making our voice heard in the Co-op and working with other co-ops in the community. We hold short informal meetings every two months and we organise local activity around issues like Fairtrade. The Co-op recently made a short filmabout us for people interested in forming groups like ours in other areas.
Anyone who is interested in co-ops and co-operation is welcome to join us.
